Obstructive circulatory disturbances
Severe diabetes
Peripheral vascular Disease
Any condition where circulation in feet and legs is poor or there is a loss of sensation (feeling) in feet or legs.
Special Considerations
Do not use in peripheral vascular disease, if used, maximum temperature should be 39°C.
Not recommended for frostbite
When adding hot water, be careful not to burn.
Procedure
Water must be deep enough to cover ankles
Cold Compress to head
At end of the treatment, pour the basin of cold water over feet.
Dry thoroughly
If patient is perspiring, give a cooling treatment over the whole body and dry thoroughly.
Rest for 30 minutes
