After a hot treatment
Slow metabolism
Poor circulation
Poor immune system
Poor digestion
Poor tone
General weakness
Depression
Sedentary individual
To exfoliate skin
To end hot treatments
Contraindications
Chilled patient
Open wounds
Infected skin
Sunburn
Sensitive skin
Rash or lesions
Damaged skin
Varicose veins
Painful, bruised area
Malignant tumors
Special Considerations
Assure patient warmth before treatment.
Avoid chilling.
A healthy reaction will leave skin pink.
Vigorous, but it should not be painful.
Procedure
Soak mittens in cold water
Expose only area treated.
Place towel under part being treated (keep area dry)
Wring excess water.
Use vigorous friction.
Dry thoroughly and re-drape
Move to the next area.
Dry. Keep warm.
Rest for 30 minutes
